An AI receptionist for barbershops that books the cut while you're mid-fade.
Salonity Concierge picks up on your shop's number, in the client's own language, books him with the barber he asked for, texts him the time, and shows you what happened on every call.
Independent stylists from $149/month • Salon plans priced after a setup call
TL;DR
- The concierge answers your shop's phone while you cut, in the client's own language, and books him with the barber he asked for.
- He gets a text with the time and the barber. You get the recording, the words, and whether he booked.
- At the end of the day you see every call and how full each barber's book is. The calls that slipped away show why.
Saturday, 11:40, four chairs going
You are halfway through a skin fade. The phone on the counter lights up. Nobody is free to pick it up, and you are not stopping with the clippers on the back of someone's head. It rings out. Ten minutes later it rings again. By the time you brush him off and look at the screen, there are three missed calls and you do not know who any of them were.
That is the shape of the problem in a barbershop. It is not a slow Tuesday problem. It is a busy Saturday problem, and busy Saturdays are when a new client is calling three shops in a row and booking with whoever answers. An AI receptionist for barbershops only earns its keep if it does three things at once: picks up every time, books the right barber, and shows you afterwards what you would otherwise never know.
Salonity Concierge goes live on the number your clients already call. When the phone rings and every chair is busy, it answers, in the language the client speaks. He asks for Marcus on Saturday; it finds Marcus's next opening, books it, and texts him the time and the shop address before he hangs up. If he asks something only you can answer, the call comes to you, with a note on why. When you finish the fade, you can read what happened in ten seconds.
The phone in a barbershop
Mid-fade, phone on the counter
Clippers running, a line edge half done. You let it ring. He calls the shop down the street.
Walk-ins and the phone at once
A guy at the door asking how long, a client in the chair, and the phone going again.
"Is Marcus in today?"
Half your callers want one barber. Whoever picks up has to know his book by heart.
A Spanish-speaking client gets a shrug
He asks in Spanish, the one barber who speaks it is mid-cut, and the call ends with "call back later".
Someone picks up. You keep cutting.
Salonity Concierge answers the call, books the client with the right barber, texts him the confirmation, and tells you what happened. You stay with the person in your chair.
What it does for a barbershop
Answers on your shop's number
Mid-fade, at lunch, after close, on a Sunday. Live on the number your clients already call.
Books by barber
He asks for Marcus, he gets Marcus's next opening. If he just wants a cut, he gets the next chair free.
In the client's own language
A client who calls in Spanish is answered in Spanish and booked the same way.
Texts the confirmation
Time, barber, address. It lands on his phone before he hangs up, so he shows up.
Passes a call to a person
A question only you can answer goes to you or the barber, with a note on why.
You see every call
Recording, transcript, a short summary, and the outcome: booked, handed to a person, or slipped away.
What you see Saturday night
Every call on one screen, each with its outcome. Here is what a day's list looks like. The names and times are an example of what an owner sees, not anyone's real data.
- Booked. New client, fade and beard, asked for Marcus. Saturday 2:30. Confirmation texted.
- Booked. Regular, called in Spanish, moved Tuesday's cut to Thursday 6:00 with Luis.
- Went to you. Asked about a group booking for a wedding party. You called him back at 4:00.
- Slipped away. Asked the price of a cut, hung up after hearing it.
Next to the list, how each barber's week filled, and what each chair brought in. The price call that hung up is not a mystery any more; it is a line you can read and a fix you can make. The owner's screen is described on the reporting page, and how a call goes from "hello" to the book is on the phone concierge page.
It is a voice, not a person at the door, and a few callers will notice. What we can say for certain: at one busy Los Angeles salon it has answered and summarized more than 870 calls so far, and every one of them can be played back.
Barbershop FAQs
Does it book walk-ins?
A walk-in is already at your door, so he does not need the phone. What the concierge handles is the caller who wants to know if he can come in now: it books him into the next open slot, with the barber he asked for. If you want walk-ins to put themselves in the book, there is an in-shop booking kiosk you can switch on.
Can a client ask for a specific barber?
Yes. It knows each barber's book, books the client with the barber he asked for, and offers the next time that barber is open if the slot he wanted is gone.
A lot of my clients speak Spanish. Does it?
It answers each client in his own language. A client who calls in Spanish is greeted and booked in Spanish. We set up your clients' languages with you when we onboard the shop.
Does it sound like a robot?
It is an AI voice, and we do not hide that. What matters to most clients is that someone picked up and got them a time with their barber.
Do I need a new phone number?
No. It goes live on the number your clients already call.
Can I hear what was said on a call?
Yes. Every call is recorded and written out, with a short summary and how it ended: booked, handed to a person, or slipped away, with the reason in one line.
How is it set up for a single-chair shop?
The same way as for a six-chair shop: a half-hour call with our engineer about your services, your hours and your clients. Only the parts you want are switched on. Independent barbers start from $149 a month.
